Native American Project

Casting and Business Opportunities

Native American Hero Movie & Series Opportunities

The following information is directed at the Native American community (US/Canada). Our goal is to promote media jobs and access within the tribally recognized Native American community for our Native American content related projects.

Open Casting Call Opportunity

Imajilan™ will soon be looking for tribally recognized male and female actors for key roles in a major motion picture featuring a modern day Native American hero (for world theatrical release). We will be holding an open casting call sometime in 2011. All tribally recognized Native Americans with interest, regardless their acting experience, are encouraged to apply.

Roles

We are especially interested in finding the lead actors for our franchise series and film project:

Lead One = Male (15-18)

Lead Two = Male (25-40)

Both must be physically fit and have good hand-eye coordination (these are action roles). Lead Two must have the ability to be very animated and have an ability to use comedic facial expressions).

Support One = Male (35-50)

This person will portray a charming, witty, 60 year old character and should be familiar with comedic and clown expression techniques, or ability to learn.

Support Two = Male (22-32)

This is a role for someone with comedic and clown skills. Must have the ability to do strong, comedic facial expressions (eyes in particular).

Support Three = Female (22-32)

This is the the role of slender, strong willed, modern, Hopi who is both empathetic and energetic yet capable of wide emotional swings.

Support Four = Female (26-36)

This is the the role of heavy set, strong willed, modern, Hopi who is quick witted and lovable.

Support Five = Male (26-36)

This is the the role of a heavy set Hawaiian who is comically afraid of his Hopi wife (Support Four).

Additional Roles

There are numerous Native American support roles for males ages 10 to 18 and extras of all ages. There are also some minor support roles for non-Native Americans.

All experience levels are welcome to try out.

Pilot Series Casting

The feature film also includes a pilot television series spin off and some cast from the film may also be cast in the series. A list of all roles will be made available here when ready.

Anyone who is interested in being notified when the casting call begins is encouraged to send their name, recent head-shot, and a one page bio, and links to any online reels with contact information to:  NAproject @ Imajilan.com

Remote Casting Calls

For those who live outside the Los Angeles area, you will be allowed to submit your casting call via an Internet video (our script, your acting), if you wish (we do not want anybody excluded because they cannot get to the initial call). Please prepare for this scenario in advance of our official casting call if so that you have the resources in place to ensure your successful application (if you intend to use this option).

All those passing the initial screening process must be prepared to come to Los Angles for final series of casting re-calls and/or potential screen tests.

Tribally Recognized Writing, Directing, Artists, and Other Opportunities

Imajilan™ is looking for tribally recognized talent its franchise Ticci Man franchise, including artists, writers and others for its comic book, video game, cartoon series, TV series, and fature film that revolve around a Native American hero character. This project requires in-depth knowledge of tribal cultures and practices so, naturally, we want to encourage the Native American community to get involved. To apply, contact us at:  NAproject @ Imajilan.com

Southwest Tribal Land, Casino, And Job Opportunities

Imajilan Pictures™ (and TV) will be looking to work with one major tribal community in the Southwest to become the official home-base for the film and series production. The production will need to create a small, adobe and Western style town and one large multi-use building for both interior and exterior scenes and one abode style ranch (or suitable existing location). The tribe will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed on time and budget and in using at least 50% American Indian (tribally recognized) labor. The set must be kept in tact for the duration of the project and must not be located near busy or noisy locations but have a wilderness feel and look to it.

We are also looking for one tribe with a major working casino that will allow for routine filming on and inside the premises for the duration of the film and television series. The casino must be willing to host several major publicity events on the premises.

Other Tribal Land Opportunities

Imajilan Television™ series includes a story line that takes our hero to a new tribal land each week. Tribes dealing with current issues with government, culture, or other aspects who want to have their issues explored through a national TV series are encouraged to apply and lend us a hand in developing our storylines.  All tribes are encouraged to apply for production location candidacy as well (all locations will be considered).

Only official tribal representatives should respond to us regarding this aspect:  NAproject @ Imajilan.com

Tribal Cultural Expert Consultant Opportunities

Imajilan™ seeks to conduct our Native American content related projects with the highest level of respect and authenticity regarding the Native American community. We will be seeking tribally approved consultants to ensure cultural authenticity, proper language usage, and the omission of any prohibited aspects, as well as strict adherence to any sacred aspects that may be depicted (in part) when allowed and treated properly (or where necessary, avoided altogether or fictionalized, as may be consultant determined).

Please note this is a fantasy storyline project that deals with a mythological tribe and fictional cultural elements that interact with modern day (real) tribes and their cultural elements--most on camera ceremonies are directed at our mythical tribe so that real tribes can maintain their hidden or sacred aspects. Consultants chiefly aid in aspects that are already publicly known and revealed while ensuring prohibited items are not included. We wish to be as accurate as possible in all portrayals or aspects.

The following initial tribal consultants will be needed (more to be added later):

~Diné

~Hopi

~Lipan

~Apache

~Taos

~Yaqui

All consultants are required to be on the film set per the official production schedules that deal with their respective tribal expertise.

If interested, please submit your name, tribe, and contact information, including phone, to: NAproject @ Imajilan.com

NA Investment Opportunities

Native American businesses and investors are encouraged to participate in project funding for any or our franchise projects or to sponsor advertising.

Our hope is that most of the financial benefits for these projects can be kept in the tribal community, as opposed to enriching foreign or corporate investors. Full investment and ad packages will be available in 2011 for those interested.
